Welcome to Southern Maine Community College's Maine Advanced Technology Center (MATC), located in Brunswick, Maine. There are very few industries growing as fast as the composite industry. Composites are used in sporting equipment, bicycles and boats, as well as in the aerospace, medical, auto, and furniture industries. New applications for composites are turning up on a daily basis. MATC––created by industry leaders with the help of a US DOL grant and in association with Maine’s North Star Alliance––is dedicated to providing the best composite training possible so students can take advantage of this growing technology. As part of SMCC, we also offer the very best in general education classes.

As the composites and advanced manufacturing industries grow and evolve, MATC will evolve as well. We are dedicated to working with Maine companies to develop our training based on industry needs. We promise you a high level of instruction, both in the classroom and in the lab, where hands-on training will enable you to put to practice what you learn as you learn.
